Attorneys

Jennifer Raphael received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara, in 1990.  After approximately three years of management-type jobs, she obtained a position in the automotive industry, where she honed her organizational and negotiation skills, and accumulated extensive knowledge of the industry at the consumer/dealership level.   

During her first year of law school, Ms. Raphael began her legal career as a paralegal for Anticouni & Associates.  Subsequently, she spent three years working for a consumer law firm, specializing in automotive-related litigation.  After graduation from the Southern California Institute of Law and admission to the California Bar in December 2003, Ms. Raphael spent her first year as an attorney litigating primarily lemon law and auto fraud cases, and was able to draw on her automotive knowledge. 

In 2005, Ms. Raphael returned to Anticouni & Associates and to the practice of employment law.  She primarily litigates cases involving discrimination of all types, retaliation, and wrongful termination, as well as wage and hour claims.  In addition to the California Bar, Ms. Raphael is also admitted to the United States District Courts, Northern, Eastern and Central Districts.   

Ms. Raphael served for two years on the Board of Directors for Santa Barbara County Legal Aid Foundation and continues to participate in their fund-raising activities.  Ms. Raphael is a member of the Santa Barbara County Bar Association, California Employment Lawyers Association, and Santa Barbara Women Lawyers Association.
