Bruce N. Anticouni, Esq.
Before establishing Anticouni & Associates in 1979, Bruce Anticouni
worked from 1971 until 1974 as a trial attorney at the National
Labor Relations Board in Los Angeles, California. From 1974 until
1979, he was Employment Counsel and later, Vice President and General
Counsel of a New York Stock Exchange company which employed over
50,000 employees in retail locations throughout the United States.
For 26 years he was the managing partner of Anticouni & Associates.
Mr. Anticouni obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Philosophy from
California State College at Long Beach in 1967 and his Juris Doctorate
from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in
1970. He is admitted to the California Bar, California Courts of
Appeal, the California Supreme Court, the United States District
Court,the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.
Mr. Anticouni is rated "AV" by the legal publisher Martindale-Hubbell. These ratings reflect the confidential opinions of both attorneys and judges, taking into consideration the standards of professional ability and ethical standing. AV is the highest rating possible. Martindale-Hubbell states: "An AV rating is a significant accomplishment--a testament to the fact that a lawyer's peers rank him or her at the highest level of professional excellence."
Mr. Anticouni serves
on the Board of Directors of a number of for-profit and non-profit
organizations. He is a member of the National Employment Lawyers
Association, the California Employment Lawyers Association, National
Lawyers Guild, Association of Trial Lawyers of America, Consumer
Attorneys of California, Santa Barbara County Bar Association, Los
Angeles County Bar Association, and Workplace Fairness.
Kimberley E. Montanaro, Esq.
Prior to joining Anticouni & Associates in 2008, Kimberley E. Montanaro’s civil litigation experience reached a broad range of issues, including insurance coverage analysis, corporate and business disputes, contract disputes, real estate disputes, theft of trade secrets, violations of copyright and trademark rights, products liability, premises liability, and other business torts. Ms. Montanaro has advised and represented clients in all aspects of litigation and has participated in both bench and jury trials as well as administrative hearings. Currently, Ms. Montanaro’s practice focuses on a variety of matters including employment class actions, wage and hour law, wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment (including sexual harassment), whistle blower and retaliation claims, and contract claims.
Ms. Montanaro obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Journalism from University of Colorado at Boulder in May 1995 and her Juris Doctorate from University of Denver, College of Law in May 2002. She was admitted to the California State Bar in June 2003, and is admitted to practice in front of all state and federal courts in the State of California as well as the United States Supreme Court. She is a member of the Santa Barbara County Bar Association, the State Bar of California, and California Employment Lawyers Association. In addition, Ms. Montanaro serves as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (“CASA”) for abused, neglected, and/or abandoned children in the Santa Barbara County Juvenile Dependency system.
Jennifer Rae Raphael, Esq.
Jennifer Raphael worked for Anticouni & Associates as a paralegal
while she was a law student. Subsequently, she worked for a firm
specializing in Consumer Law, where she spent her first year as
an attorney before returning to Anticouni & Associates as an
Associate Attorney. She works on a variety of matters including
wage and hour, sexual harassment and contract claims.
Ms. Raphael obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from
University of California at Santa Barbara in 1990, and her Juris
Doctorate from Southern California Institute of Law in 2003. She
is admitted to the California Bar, California Courts of Appeal and
the United States District Court. She is a member of the California
Employment Lawyers Association, and serves on the Board of Directors
of the Santa Barbara Legal Aid Foundation.
Kerry E. Lewis, Esq.
Kerry Lewis worked for Anticouni & Associates as a paralegal
for four years prior to her admittance to the State Bar in 2003,
when she became an Associate Attorney. She focuses her practice
on class actions and wage and hour claims.
Ms. Lewis obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Environmental Studies
from University of California at Santa Barbara in 1993, and her
Juris Doctorate from Southern California Institute of Law in 2003.
She is admitted to the California Bar, California Courts of Appeal
and the United States District Court. In addition, she has been
a member of the California Employment Lawyers Association since
the year 2000.
